How to Save TikTok Videos to Your Computer
Updated: 2026-11-04
TikTok’s own download button is not always available on desktop. OneTap Save can keep a copy of a public TikTok video you have the right to use — for example your own posts or clips you have permission to reuse.
Steps
- Install OneTap Save for Chrome or Edge and pin it to the toolbar.
- Open the video on tiktok.com in your browser and let it play. On the For You feed, the video currently on screen is the one that is detected.
- Click the OneTap Save icon. The playing video appears with its size.
- Click Download. The file is saved to your browser’s download folder.
Good to know
- OneTap Save saves the file the TikTok web player plays. It does not try to strip watermarks or generate a different version.
- It saves the video you are viewing. It does not bulk-download a profile or the feed.
- Photo (slideshow) posts are newer and may not work on every post yet.

FAQ
Does it work with private videos?
Only if you can watch the video normally in your own browser. OneTap Save does not bypass logins or privacy settings.
Will the creator be notified?
No. Saving happens in your browser. Please respect the creator’s rights and only keep what you are allowed to use.
Only save videos and images you own or have permission to use, and follow each site’s terms. OneTap Save does not bypass DRM or paywalls.
