How to Save Instagram Photos, Carousels and Reels
Updated: 2026-11-04
Instagram has no download button for posts on desktop. With OneTap Save you can keep a copy of your own posts or content you have permission to use — single photos, carousels and Reels.
Steps
- Install OneTap Save for Chrome or Edge and pin it to the toolbar.
- Open the post or Reel on its own page (its address contains
/p/or/reel/). Sign in to Instagram as you normally would if the site asks. - For a carousel, swipe through it once so all photos load.
- Click the OneTap Save icon and download a photo, all photos as one ZIP, or the video.
Good to know
- Videos inside a mixed carousel are listed separately from the photos.
- Stories, the home feed and whole profiles are not supported — open a single post instead.
- Instagram changes often. If a post does not appear, refresh the page once and try again.
FAQ
Can I save a whole Instagram profile?
No. OneTap Save saves the post you are viewing, one at a time.
Do I need to log in?
Only if Instagram asks you to log in to view the post. OneTap Save uses your normal browser session and never sees your password.
Only save videos and images you own or have permission to use, and follow each site’s terms. OneTap Save does not bypass DRM or paywalls.
